Marta C. Bukata has served as the Deputy Director of CLC since 1989. Marta has been the director of the Domestic Violence Program since 1986 and has been the director of the Child Representative Program since 2004. Marta was recently selected by the Circuit Court of Cook County to be a court-appointed guardian ad litem in adoption cases. Marta has served as a court-appointed child’s representative and guardian ad litem in domestic relations cases for over ten years. In addition to her work with CLC, Marta currently serves as president of the Board of Directors of the Chicago Hispanic Health Coalition and she was a charter member of the Child Representative Screening Committee of the Circuit Court of Cook County. Marta was the recipient of the Chicago Bar Foundation’s 2012 Thomas H. Morsch Public Service Award and the Lawyers Trust Fund’s 2005 Esther R. Rothstein Award. Marta has over 35 years of legal experience and is a graduate of the Valparaiso University School of Law. Marta was licensed in Illinois in 1982. Marta is fluent in Spanish.
