Sufyan is Deputy Director and General Counsel at CAIR-Chicago, a nonprofit organization that works to combat hate and discrimination targeted toward Muslim Americans and other vulnerable communities. He oversees CAIR-Chicago’s daily operations and programs, including the Travelers Assistance Project (TAP), which provides 24/7 support to individuals affected by the federal government’s Muslim travel ban.

Sufyan graduated from Tulane University with a BA and obtained an MS in finance and his law degree from DePaul University. He is highly motivated toward breaking down unfair systems and barriers to equality, a passion that led him to join the Board of GCLC, whose staff he admires for their relentless efforts to help the underserved.

In his spare time, Sufyan loves traveling and volunteers weekly as a bedside magician at a local children’s hospital.
