Meet GCLC’s New Staff Members

In the fall of 2021, Greater Chicago Legal Clinic welcomed four new staff members: Julie Brady, Elsie Garcia, Sandra Leon, and Radhika Patel. Get to know each of them below. We are so grateful they are joining the team!

Julie Brady is the newest staff attorney for the Criminal Records Program, focusing on cannabis expungement. Julie graduated from Wake Forest School of Law and received her undergraduate degree from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Julie is dedicated to opposing the systems which enable and impose the burdens of poverty. To learn more about Julie Brady, read her full biography.

Elsie Garcia is the newest Spanish translator and assistant for both the consumer protection and housing stability programs. She graduated with a B.A from Georgetown University in 2020. Elsie admires GCLC staff’s commitment to expanding legal resources in the Chicago area especially to Native Spanish speakers. To learn more about Elsie Garcia, read her full biography.

Sandra Leon is GCLC’s Client Manager, responsible for organizing and managing the client intake process. GCLC is excited to welcome Sandra back, as prior to this position she worked for ten years in the Clinic’s former Pilsen office as an office manager and paralegal on the Immigration Law Project. Radhika Patel is the newest staff attorney for GCLC’s Foreclosure and Advice Desk and is excited to help clients navigate complex foreclosure matters. She graduated from the University of Miami School of Law, with a B.A. from UC Berkeley. Radhika is fluent in English, Gujarati, and Hindi, and is proficient in Spanish.
