Chloe Bell, Senior Baum Fellow

Chloe is the Senior Baum Fellow in GCLC’s Environmental Law Program. Chloe earned her BA in Environmental Studies with a policy concentration from Illinois Wesleyan University in 2019. She graduated from IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2022 with a JD, and dual certificates in Environmental and Energy Law and Public Interest Law, and was admitted to the Illinois bar later that year.

While a student at Chicago-Kent, Chloe participated in the environmental law clinic for three years under the guidance of GCLC’s Keith Harley. Here she worked on complex environmental justice cases focused on industrial permitting, air and water contamination, site remediation, as well as state and local environmental policy issues. During this time, she was awarded both the Baum Family Environmental Law Fellowship and the Dean’s Distinguished Service Award for her commitment to environmental justice and public service.

As Senior Baum Fellow, Chloe is thrilled to be continuing her work that began as a student. She is dedicated to advancing GCLC’s mission of helping underserved individuals navigate the justice system and advocating for a safe and healthy environment for all. In addition to her casework serving environmental justice communities in Chicago, Chloe also helps coach the Chicago-Kent National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition team that she was a student member of for two years. In her spare time, Chloe enjoys camping in the northwoods and catching all the great live music Chicago has to offer.
